The shovel measures 31.5" with boom fully extended, 14" high & 6.5" wide at the shovel base.  Turn the crank handle to raise the boom.  Once it's parallel with the ground, continue to turn the crank handle to extend the boom.  Once it's fully extended, the shovel door cord releases the door & drops the load.  Press the release lever & the spring loaded boom returns to its original position, lowers itself & gravity shuts & latches the shovel door.
